Black II XLR Cable

A Stereophile recommended component 2016, Hi Fi + cable of the year and a five globe performer for Hi Fi World magazine, should give an indication of how well this cable performs. As was written in Audio stream when comparing it to another cable: greater clarity, a more natural presentation, a more open yet defined sound image, improved tonal qualities and, taking a few steps back, a more engaging musical experience.

Performance Profile

Blue Family Warm and forgiving for systems with a slight edge or for those who like a more smooth laid back presentation. Blue and Ultra Blue are especially good for AV and home cinema

Black Family Smooth, fine detailed and great resolution while actually reducing apparent harshness. Music is presented as a coherent, organic whole, with a jaw-dropping sense of realism and naturalness.

Silver Family Totally uncoloured, acting as a wide open channel sounding unforced, vivid and dynamic with phenomenal resolution, transparency and natural tonal colours. All this while sounding extremely analog and coherent, from the exceptional top end extension to bottom with finely detailed, separated bass notes.

HiFi and Music Source

“As a HiFi enthusiast with no knowledge of Tellurium Q products before now, it has certainly changed my thinking. It will change yours too…. Wish I’d heard Tellurium Q before”

“A raft of major improvements moves Tellurium Q’s Black II to the front of the line if you’re after a low-to-mid priced XLR interconnect. Noticeably better than before, it sounds smoother and more natural, yet faster and more engaging too… this offers a lot for relatively modest money. As such, it’s one to add to your audition list.”

HiFi Pig

“I had hoped at last to be able to find faults in a TQ cable, but that was never going to be the case here. This was an excellent all-rounder with excellent speed and precision. Working at all frequencies and all types of music excellently it opened up the music in a way that many other companies can only dream of, that focus on phase relationships doing its thing. This worked so well with different systems and I would heartily recommend having a listen, however expensive your system is. This cable is that good. I have no idea how Geoff has done it, nor will I”

Tone Audio

“A more clear positioning of virtual sources, especially in depth. The second point – improved transfer rate, which is especially noticeable on phonograms with an abundance of all sorts of percussion instruments.”

HiFI World

“Treble, as per the RCA, was atmospheric and spacious, but deliciously devoid of smear or grain – hi hats appeared to ‘glint’ in the background beautifully.”

“The XLRs have a very natural sheen to them and great resolution. Quiet as you could get. Very impressed.”
